Position Summary

Simplicity Moving Company is hiring full-time (36-40 hours/week) and part-time (16-32 hours/week) Movers.

Movers are the front line of our company and are the lifeblood of our moving jobs. As such, we are looking for well-rounded individuals who are able to think strategically, move efficiently, and have impeccable customer service skills.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience packing household items, loading trucks, managing inventory interacting with clients. He or she will be a self-starter, highly organized, forward-thinking, extremely detail-oriented, with the ability to adapt based on fluid moving conditions. Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for providing unmatched customer service are absolutely necessary.

Job Responsibilities

The day-to-day responsibilities of this position include, but are in no way limited to the following:

  • Safely pack, load, transport, unload and unpack client belongings
  • Demonstrate first-class customer service: anticipate the needs and desires of our clients and be ready, willing and able to accommodate them
  • Keep a detailed accounting of tools and moving supplies
  • Work with the Moving Captain and other team members to resolve any problems that may arise on the job site
  • Collaborate with other team members to accomplish tasks efficiently and safely
  • Help recruit other team members

Essential Responsibilities & Core Competencies

The day-to-day responsibilities and core competencies of this position include, but are in no way limited to the following:

  • Excellent knowledge of moving-related materials and equipment
  • Able to lift items in excess of 100 lbs. onto box trucks
  • Previous experience in a customer service role with strong and proven customer relations abilities
  • Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
  • Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem
  • Ability to adapt to change in the workplace
  • Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project/task
  • Ability to work at a sustained pace and produce quality work
  • Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace.

High School Diploma (or GED) required.

Previous moving, hospitality and/or customer service a plus

Work Environment
Most of the work for this position will be done at company job sites.

Other Requirements

Employee must be willing and able to pass a background check and submit to random drug screenings.

Employee must practice good hygiene at all times while on the job. Fingernails must be clean and properly trimmed, no visible tattoos on the neck, face, or hands; hair must be kept neat and clean. Any facial hair must be trimmed and neat. No excessive piercings or other jewelry permitted. Employee must agree to follow dress code while on the job.
